Suffolk Brunch
The First Annual NYSSCSW Suffolk Brunch (held January 16, 2011), was a tremendous success! Many requests to attend future events were made by individuals who aren't chapter members.  Believing, with regards to participation, "The More, the Merrier", we are extending this invitation to our fellow Society members, to members of NASW, and to interested, non-affiliated professionals.

The draw, this time, is not primarily the sublimely wonderful fare at Guy Reuge's Mirabelle's, but the presentation by one of Suffolk's own, Sheila Felberbaum, LCSW, BCD!

Sunday, March 27th, 2011, at NOON at Stony Brook's Three Village Inn - Suffolk's Brunch - Presenting will be Suffolk Chapter's own:  Sheila Felberbaum, LCSW, BCD
"A Psychotherapist's Experiences of Loss:  Midlife and Beyond"

Payment must be made in advance: checks payable to NYSSCSW should be sent to:  S. J. Lane, LCSW-R, BCD, CGP at 627 Half Hollow Rd., Dix Hills, NY 11746-6233   (631 586-7429.
The cost is:
    Students - $10.
    NYSSCSW members - $15.
    NASW members - $25.
    Non-affiliated professionals - $30.

Sheila's presentation will be about life and connection, separation and death and the moments in-between. Loss will be addressed from the vantage point of midlife: a time during which ones' ability  to deny death is profoundly challenged.  after the presentation, there will be time for discussion, as prior presentations on this have stimulated interesting thoughts, feelings and responses.

Sheila felberbaum, first educated as a nurse, maintains a general psychotherapy practice in smithtown, ny, with a specialty in bereavement and the treatment of patients with life challenging medical diagnoses.  this should be not only interesting, but informative, educational, and provocative.  This is a NOT- to-be-missed opportunity!

There is a complementary presentation by a colleague and friend of our presenter, two weeks later, at Nassau's brunch, on April 10th.
